This series of photos of Stockport was taken for the 2026 Amoeba exhibition at Stockroom with the concept ‘local/connection’ as the theme - I revisited the days before my Neurosarcoidosis diagnosis and treatment.

It was a period of derealisation, depersonalisation and dissociation as every sense was distorted and then further amplified by [undiagnosed] neurodivergence. Life was dominated by hospital appointments, scans, stress and exhaustion. Sight was the first sense to be affected with shallow, blurred vision, sensitivity to light and altered colour. This change in perception and cognition led to an overwhelming feeling of confusion, disconnection and vulnerability in once familiar streets that suddenly appeared alien.
